Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer service oriented Capacity Management Specialist  to join our team in Springfield, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

The Capacity Management Specialist is responsible for reviewing, administering and implementing capacity management processes and procedures, developing and implementing plans to guide the IT organization to adopt an effective yet efficient capacity management process. Ensures proper reporting and monitoring are in place to alert staff of potential capacity issues well ahead of impact and is responsible for aggregating, distilling, and communication that information to decision makers. Conducts research on IT Capacity Management process improvement. Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining internal capacity management policies, procedures and associated training plans. Assisting with the definition and documentation of new or adapted release management processes and procedures.


o 5 years experience and a B.S. degree. Bachelor of Science (BS) can be substituted with an additional 4 years of related experience

o Experience with analytical toolsets such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Cognos.
o Experience with highly complex IT operations environments
o Experience with capacity management in the federal government space

o Has developed or participated in development or improvement of a robust capacity management process at the enterprise level
o High degree of understanding of ITIL capacity management methodology
o Has the ability to develop strategic plans based on trending and demand analysis while being able to operate at the tactical level in setting up processes and procedures for producing consistent and meaningful capacity data.
o Is able to work in a team environment while still being responsible for discrete objectives
o Highly motivated with strong organizational, planning and time management skills
o Must have very strong communication skills (oral, written, and presentation).
o Must have experience with client interaction at all levels and has the ability to develop trusted based relationships quickly
o Good attention to detail with high importance placed on accuracy
o Flexible in manner of working and willingness to adapt and learn
o Able to identify opportunities for further improvement
o Sharp analytical skills
