Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Software & DevOps Solutions Engineer to join our team in Alexandria, VA, to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

Primary duties are to support CI/CD tooling design, management & software development activities for multiple projects. Our organization is in the process of refactoring & migrating our custom software applications from a traditional data center to the AWS cloud. You will support multiple project teams in their efforts to refactor their applications to new cloud architecture using Docker, AWS tools and a robust continuous integration toolkit. This is a multi-faceted position that requires a very technical self-starter who enjoys coding, architecture, DevOps support, learning new technologies and engaging with multiple teams. The position requires Java and Web development responsibilities to support our architecture & prototype development unit. 


Position Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be able to favorably pass government background investigation
  • Strong experience working in a DevOps environment and using CI/CD automation tools such as Jenkins, DCOS, GitLab, SonarQube, Docker, etc.
  • Web application development experience using Java, Spring and modern JavaScript libraries like React and AngularJs.
  • Experience installing, configuring and managing CI/CD tools to support enterprise level projects.
  • Experience decomposing monolith software applications into a MicroServices architecture.
  • Experience designing and building applications using AWS cloud tools such as DynamoDB, Lamda, Cloud Formation and OpenShift.
  • Experience building responsive web applications that utilize Ajax to minimize page reloads.
  • Web services using REST and SOAP.
  • Hands-on experience with NOSQL databases, spark, and mapreduce.
  • Experience working in an agile environment such as scrum. Participate in stand-ups, retrospectives, planning and other required meetings.
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Familiar with Tomcat and WebLogic application servers.
  • Linux server administration experience.
  • Ability to produce polished technical documents and diagrams that convey technical architectural concepts.
  • Master's degree and minimum 15 years of related experience or equivalent blend of education and experience.
