Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Application Analyst to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

This position is approximately 40 - 50% travel to federal customer site in Washington DC Metro area and 50 % Remote. Reston, Virginia / FT. Meade, Maryland wouold be designated as office locations.


Job description:

  • Analyze application inventory and application portfolios for our clients
  • Identify and document stakeholders for each application
  • Identify logical and physical components of application systems
  • Analyze system dependencies and integration interfaces
  • Analyze application configurations and security risks
  • Develop application performance baseline, application system documentation
  • Support data center migrations by developing application grouping and performing application operation and migration planning, data validation, and system verification
  • Support application operation and maintenance 
  • Requirement:
  • Hands-on experience with managing multi-tier application systems that include database, mid-tier, and web servers. 
  • Hands-on experience with managing multiple types of databases, including Oracle and SQL Server. Experience with MySQL and DB2 is desired.
  • Hands-on experience with web servers and middle tier application servers 
  • Hands-on experience with web services and related API technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in application integration and communication protocols, and security settings
  • Strong knowledge with application delivery controller
  • Knowledge with cloud computing 
  • Strong communication skills. Strong experience in interacting with clients as a consultative professional.

Requirements
  • US Citizen with a minimum of a Secret clearance.
  • A minimum of 5+ years experience in computer system basics and/or related areas of expertise. 
  • Knowledge and skills may be obtained from a 2-4 year professional computer/IT degree, technical training plus direct related experience. 
  • Advanced knowledge in evaluating vendor products and make recommendations to purchase hardware and software. 
  • Knowledge of setting up administrator and service accounts 
  • Knowledgeable in network security procedures, best practices, and implementation 
  • Has achieved industry standard certifications: Security+, CCNP, CCNA, Network+, MCSA. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot software issues and customer applications as required. 
  • Excellent documentation skills are required.

Education / Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant work experience.
  • DoD 8570 certified. DoD Secret or higher level clearance.
