Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Cloud Architect/SME to join our team in Reston, Virginia to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

Position Available September 2018 !

Roles and Responsibilities:

Passionately guides strategic direction, and provide architectural leadership for customers in their journey to evaluate and subsequently deploy Cloud solutions and related tools, to migrate applications to the Cloud, and to develop Cloud-native applications. Serve as an effective advocate for cloud migration, and develop strategic relationships with senior executives and technical resources in order to help customers realize significant mission value through Cloud technology.

In addition the following responsibilities inclide:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert and thought leader in technical areas related to Cloud deployments and associated platforms
  • Facilitate architecture discussions related to Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and virtualization strategies for Cloud deployment
  • Provide insights and recommendations related to tools that enable the provision of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS (Software as a Service) services
  • Develop trusted partner relationships with key customer executives and technologists to provide leadership and vision for customers to achieve significant mission value through Cloud technology
  • Collaborate with customers to evaluate mission drivers, identify challenges and define related mitigation strategies, assess applications, develop transition plans, and develop business cases in support of Cloud initiatives
  • Review Cloud initiatives to validate that established architecture-related processes and standards are followedr recovery/BCP pla
Requirements

REQUIRED:

  • US Citizenship with a DoD Secret clearance.
  • 15 years of experience in IT environment
  • Thorough working knowledge of, and 4-6 years hands-on experience with, AWS Cloud architecture
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience architecting, designing and deploying scalable, multi-tenant public, private, or hybrid cloud solutions
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing architecture, technical design, and implementations including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery models
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, and other related Cloud providers (experience with DISA Data Centers highly desireable)
  • Experience with migrating applications to Cloud environments
  • A demonstrated understanding of the key technology components that make up Cloud such as virtualization, networking, servers, storage, workloads/applications, and containerization

Education / Security Clearance

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
