Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Data Visualization Specialist to join our team in Alexandria, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

The Data Visualization Specialist is responsible for turning abstract information from data analyses into appealing and understandable visualizations that improve business insights. Individuals in this role understand how information is turned into knowledge and how this knowledge supports and enables key business processes. They must have excellent analytical & communication skills. Should have ability to understand user interface design and apply visualizations skills such as user experience design, data visualization and graphical design and ability to quickly grasp the business processes, business strategy and strategic business initiatives to help drive incremental business value from enterprise data assets.

Responsibilities:
• Brings deep expertise in data visualization tools and techniques in translating business analytics needs into data visualization and semantic data access requirements.
• Helps drive business stakeholder adoption of insights-driven decision making and/or business process innovation.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications
• Build dashboards and visualizations based on the available datasets
• Design, build and deploy BI solutions
• Maintain and support data analytics platforms
• Create tools to store data and build security model
• Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
• Develop and execute database queries and conduct analysis
• Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
• Develop and update technical documentation
• Provide assistance to end-users in building self-service dashboards.
• May provide direction for the definition and development of test plans and system documentation.

Requirements

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Master's degree and 15 years of experience or equivalent.
• Experience in design, develope and testing data visualization solutions/dashboards.
• Data Visualization: 4 years (Preferred)
• More than 2 years of experience using Power BI.(3 years preferred)
• SQL/Database: 4 years
• Hands-on experience on Power BI along with Power BI web service and gateway.
• Experience deploying solutions to an enterprise server environment.
• Experience in designing security model in PowerBI
• Strong SQL skills for data wrangling with Oracle/Microsoft SQL Server 2012.
• Excellent knowledge of relational databases (Oracle/SQL Server).
• Knowledge of best practices for Power BI.
• Analytical and communication skills.
• Familiarity with working and creating visualizations with big data sources
• Understanding of calculated measures, hierarchies, slowly changing dimensions, and date/time dimension analysis.
