Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Deputy Projwct Manager to join our team in Alexandria, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

Serve as the technical Deputy Project Manager for a Mission Critical web application supporting U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The Technical DPM will provide technical oversite and guidance in the modernization of a monolith Java application into a modern Microservice based architecture. The DPM will be responsible for defining and implementing innovation into the project, developing and maintaining product roadmaps, managing a master risk register and staffing model, and other tasks, as assigned, by the program manager. The position requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a team player style/approach to coordinate activity among business analysts, architects and developers as well as frequent interaction with senior Government leaders and Unisys executive management. This is a delivery-focused role.

Key skill sets include the ability to lead software-centric projects of medium complexity and size; experience coordinating activities across multiple organizations and stakeholders, experience managing distributed team resources, familiarity/experience with leading Agile projects, and a demonstrated team player style/approach. Project manager must understand implementations and protections of PII, code modernization and transformation, and developing and progressively executing “as-is” architectures into “to-be” architectures.

Requirements

Key Requirements:
Support the conversion of build and deployment procedures to the target CBP DevOps framework/guidelines.
Experience with scaled Agile teams/implementing scaled agile principles.

Master’s degree and minimum 15 years of experience or equivalent blend of education and experience.
