We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented DevSecOps Lead/ Project Manager to join our team in Reston, Virginia to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

Overview

As members of the Operations team, DevOps Engineers work closely with development, test, analysis, and project management team members to understand the requirements that drive the design of quality technical solutions. Individual will be responible for the DevOps team to champion the collaboration and communication between development, test, and IT operations resources. Interaction with tea mand customer to establish a culture where building, testing, and releasing software happens rapidly and frequently with minimal re-work. Working to accelerated evolution of the application, which is process improvement driven and utilizes metrics to increase efficiency of the software development lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responible for the DevOps team to champion the collaboration and communication between development, test, and IT operations resources.
  • Establish a culture where building, testing, and releasing software happens rapidly and frequently with minimal re-work.
  • Accelerated evolution of the application, which is process improvement driven and utilizes metrics to increase efficiency of the software development lifecycle.
  • Provide advisory services to support delivery programs including hands-on full stack engineering development on projects, coaching and helping delivery teams to adapt this a part of their development life cycle.
  • Understanding of the DevOps tooling landscape and has experience integrating various DevOps tools together to provide end to end application lifecycle management. Review coding done to advance application upgrade, extension, or other development. Analyze application for data integrity issues. Develop test protocols or plan for testing revised application and review test results.
  • Serve as project lead or lead technical staff in course of application development project.
  • May mentor less experienced technical staff; may use high end development tools to assist or facilitate development process. Development of automated solutions to monitor and support our software development and release processes.
  • Embed security control design, implementation and testing into DevOps practices 
  • Drive systems engineering design and recovery by minimizing manual involvement and leading continuous improvements that create an operating environment that includes dynamically monitoring, alerting, and automated self-healing and recovery 
  • Actively participate in Agile, Kanban and Scrum activities
  • Development & Unit Test tools: Eclipse, git, JFrog Artifactory, Docker, JUnit, SonarQube, Contrast (or Fortify)
  • Deploy Tools: Atlassian Jira, Chef (or Maven), Chef, Jenkins, Pivotal Cloud Foundry
  • Test tools: Selenium, Apache JMeter, BlazeMeter, Pivotal Cloud Foundry
  • Operate tools: New Relic, Atlassian HipChat, Atlassian Jira
Requirements

REQUIRED:

  • US Citizenship with a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience working on agile teams to deliver software development and technology transformation projects
  • Experience with Java architecture, design and development, and Spring and Hibernate or equivalent
  • Experience with services, including middle–tier, microservices, or Web services design, development, and operations
  • Experience with Web APIs, including RESTful or JSON design, development, and operations
  • Experience with Cloud computing and open source solutions
  • Experience with DevOps and delivery pipelines
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL technologies
  • Knowledge of Java environments, Java Application Server administration and JVM tuning
  • Advanced Knowledge of Linux and Windows Operating Systems and Administration
  • Advanced knowledge of application clustering / load balancing concepts and technologies
  • Additional experience in SauceLab’s, a plus
  • OSS security scanning tools such as OWASP API’s a plus.
  • Experience with various DevSecOps tools including (At least one per category desired):
  • Entire Microsoft Team Foundation Server suite
  • Agile Project Management (eg. Jira, Confluence, VersionOne, Rally)
  • Build automation (e.g. Maven, Gradle, Ant) 
  • Continuous Integration tools (e.g. Jenkins, Travis, Bamboo)
  • Testing tools (e.g. Junit, Selenium, jMeter)
  • Code quality tools (e.g. Sonar, Cast, Coverity)
  • Static scanning (Contrast, Veracode, Fortify)
  • Deployment automation (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt)
  • Source Code Configuration Management repository (GitHub, BitBucket)
  • Binary repositories (Artifactory, Nexus)
  • ChatOps (HipChat, VictorOps, PagerDuty, Slack)
  • Application Performance Monitoring (eg New Relic, AppDynamics, DynaTrace)
  • Application platforms (OpenShift, Cloud Foundry) 
  • Container/scheduler platforms such as docker, docker enterprise edition, mesosphere, kubernetes or AWS Blox

Education / Security Clearance

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience
