Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented DevSecOps Platform Engineer to join our team in Reston, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems. The ideal candidate is an individual with the functional knowledge and ability to take a concept and turn it into a finished product. This individual can develop and lead application development teams using leading Agile/DevSecOps practices including Scrum. Strong candidates will have the familiarity and experience with back-end and front-end technologies and their role in software development including databases, servers and cloud, systems engineering, security and user experience, necessary to deliver mission capabilities to clients.

In this role, you will apply your expertise on multiple complex work assignments which are broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. You will apply your comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments, evaluate performance results and recommend changes as necessary to achieve project success. You will lead and support development of systems and demonstrations related to a broad range of business areas. Your overall responsibilities will include designing, developing, enhancing, debugging, and implementing software solutions and demonstrations in an Agile environment to meet customer requirements and goals. In this role you will:

• Implement a standard DEVSECOPS pipeline across multiple Application Development Teams
• Lead and participate in Application Development Teams
• Employ Agile/DevSecOps (Scrum, Kanban, etc.), supplying coaching, expertise and thought leadership
• Provide oversight and management of Unisys Technical Challenges, Proof-of-Concepts (POCs), Client Demonstrations/Demoware, White Papers and Orals associated with Federal opportunities
• Serve as project lead or lead technical staff in course of application development projects including leading Agile Teams
• Build and manage delivery teams (including remote resources) in support of Unisys Federal Systems opportunities
• Support hands-on full stack engineering development on projects, coaching and helping delivery teams to adapt this as part of their development life cycle
• Understand the DevSecOps tooling landscape and have experience integrating various DevSecOps tools together into toolchains to provide end-to-end application lifecycle management
• Maintain close communications with Unisys sales, business development, executive/solution architects, and client executives to understand and manage the pipeline of tech challenges and other demos being requested in support of opportunities.
• Collaborate and coordinate with Federal Capability Leads
• Coordinate and manage offshore resources
• Support proposal including response, written, orals, plans, artifacts

Requirements

Demonstrable skills, experience and education in the following is required:

• Strong writing skills and technical background necessary with prior experience supporting winning proposal efforts
• Agile Application Development background. Expert in software development lifecycle, systems integration, data management, and full lifecycle development
• Development and implementation of Agile Service Management Processes
• Minimum of 15 years of technical professional experience
• Minimum of 3 years of AWS or MS Azure experience
• Understanding and experience working with US Federal government security requirements, practices and standards (including FEDRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, FIPS (up to level 3), and Common Criteria)
• Minimum 18 months experience with either Cloud Foundry OR with RedHat Open Shift
• Experience with programming and infrastructure automation (e.g. Python, Shell, Java, and JSON).
• Advanced knowledge of AWS Services including:
o Management - CloudWatch (Events/Logs), IAM, CloudTrail, EC2 Systems Manager, CloudFormation
• Experience with various DevSecOps tools including (At least one per category desired):
o Agile Project Management (e.g., Jira, VersionOne, Rally)
o Build automation (e.g., Maven, Gradle, Ant)
o Continuous Integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis, Bamboo)
o Testing tools (e.g. Junit, Selenium, jMeter, Cucumber)
o Deployment automation (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt)
o Source Code Configuration Management repository (GitHub, BitBucket)
o Binary repositories (Artifactory, Nexus)
• A team player capable of high performance and flexibility in a dynamic working environment
• Taking ownership and acting with high sense of urgency, this job requires the individual to think and work like an entrepreneur

Familiarity and experience with the following is desirable:
• AWS Associate Level Certification desired (Professional preferred)
• Experience as Scrum Master (Certification a plus)
• Experience with DevSecOps (DevOps Certification a plus)
• Experience designing, developing, deploying, testing in AWS and MS Azure architecture
• Advanced knowledge of AWS Services including:
o IaaS - EC2, VPC, EBS, ELB, KMS, Config, SNS, SQS, SES, SWF, S3, Glacier
o Data Management - Redshift, RDS, EMR, Data Pipeline, Kinesis, DynamoDB, Lambda
• Other - Server Migration, Storage (e.g., Mongo DB, noSQL), Gateway, Collaboration (e.g., Slack)
• Experience with various DevSecOps tools including (at least one per category is desired):
o Entire Microsoft Team Foundation Server suite
o Build automation (e.g., Maven, Gradle, Ant)
o Code quality tools (e.g., Sonar, Cast, Coverity)
o Static scanning (e.g., Contrast, Veracode, Fortify)
o Binary repositories (e.g., Artifactory, Nexus)
o ChatOps (e.g., HipChat, VictorOps, PagerDuty, Slack)
o Application Performance Monitoring (e.g., New Relic, AppDynamics, DynaTrace)
o Container/scheduler platforms such as Docker, Docker Enterprise Edition, Mesosphere, Kubernetes or AWS EKS
o Cloud Platforms (AWS IaaS and platform services, Azure IaaS and PaaS services)

U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Management or related field degree or higher and a minimum of 15 years of related experience. Applicable advance certifications and education and specific skills can be substituted for Master's degree or years of experience.
