Job Description

We are seeking motivated, career and customer oriented Mid. Data Architect interested in joining our team in Reston, VA and exploring an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

Duties:

Analyze and model structured and unstructured data and implement solutions to support analysis; Utilize a diverse array of technologies and tools as needed, to deliver insights, such as Big Query including the variety of tools in AWS Cloud Platform (e.g. HDFS, Apache nifi, Spark, Map Reduce, Pig, Hive, Sqoop, Oozie). Perform exploratory data analysis, generate and test working hypotheses to build and define solutions to solve business problems, uncovering trends and relationships. Proven track record at managing assigned work across multiple projects in fast paced cross-functional team environment. Build analytical solutions and models by manipulating large data sets and integrating diverse data sources; Perform ad-hoc analysis and develop reproducible analytical approaches to meet business requirements. Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods.; Apply machine learning and statistical techniques to large data sets to find actionable insights. Research new analysis and modeling techniques and evolving technologies. Present results and recommendations to senior management and business users. Lead and manage data augmentation, clean up and data quality issue resolution.; Responsible for providing line of sight to data quality and gaps where issues need to be addressed. Validate that programs are operating on clean, correct and useful data. Reviews, evaluates, designs, implements and maintains internal and external data. Homogenize the performance of the database and optimize system resources. Communicate the business value of technical data solutions; Works with enterprise wide business and IT senior management to understand and prioritize data and information requirements. Optimizes the performance and champions usage of enterprise business intelligence tools, big data solutions, and analytics tool by defining data capture, methods to present and store that add value to the user

Requirements

BA or BS plus 15 years of experience

5 years of experience Experience building platforms and deploying cloud based tools and solutions with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS EMR, RDS, Kinesis, Redshift). Experience automating environment configuration and deployment with tools like Chef and Cloud Foundry. Experience developing distributed computing Big Data applications using Open Source frameworks like Apache Spark, Apex, Flink, Storm, NIFI and Kafka. Experience leveraging DevOps techniques and practices like Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Test Automation, Build Automation and Test Driven Development to enable the rapid delivery of end user capabilities. Experience with Hadoop - performance tuning and monitoring clusters in an enterprise production environment. Experience with custom Data pipeline development (Cloud and locally hosted). Operationalize data management and governance tools on an open source framework. AWS Certified Solution Architect Preferred
