We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer service oriented Program Manager to join our team in Washington, DC to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems. 

The Program Manager must have experience with diverse IT projects both large and small.   Must be able to manage a portfolio of projects. Must be well versed in full systems development life cycle, enterprise wide network engineering, strategic information planning, business process reengineering, structure and management practices.  Must be able to identify and mitigate risks to the program.  Must be able to manage to cost, schedule and performance.

Manages technical activities, schedules and costs using well-defined processes for one or more major segment(s) of a large, highly complex program concerned with the design, development and/or applied research to create or enhance products or systems.


• Work with Program Management to agree on requirements.  Analyze project requirements and prepare responses. Prepare program specification documents and design documents. Create project plans, schedules and objectives.
• Improve business processes and support critical business strategies by directing the product development, implementation and maintenance of software products
• Coordinate design/development/testing/analysis & debug of assigned products or components, following approved processes.
• Explain the solution and technology to project teams, guide and mentor project teams on product development and review project progress and provide feedback to key stakeholders.
• Ensure assigned activities are completed within committed time and cost and satisfy established quality standards 
• Maintain technical competency.  Keep abreast of engineering/applied research trends and developments and incorporate them into appropriate segments of overall programs.
• Create artifacts/documentation for project monitoring and tracking and obtain approval from stakeholders
• Provide input on employee objectives and feedback on performance.
• Follow Business Processes and contribute engineering components as appropriate.
• May make commitments for their program.
• Provide leadership and has accountability for their project or program.  Have the authority to make decisions within the scope of their project.
• Lead efforts of virtual teams. Understand regional cultural considerations and form tight working relationships.

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific/technical  discipline and 15 years’ experience required or equivalent
  • PMP Certification
  • Managed projects between $3M-$5M annually
  • Managed a cloud migration/Infrastructure project
  • Familiar with VA/DHA IT programs.
  • Preference – Managed VA/DHA Healthcare IT projects.
