Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career oriented senior Accountant to join our team in Reston, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.
 
In this role you will serve as a Senior Accountant for Unisys Federal Systems.
 
Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
Maintain fixed assets, including documentation, Costpoint data and reporting for both GL and tax books
Prepare, process and approve journal entries
Prepare account reconciliations
Approve Account reconciliations
Prepare and assist with Treasury reporting of AR balances
Perform closing process, including closing Costpoint, performing the Hyperion extract and load, preparing post close entries
Assist with Balance Sheet and Quarterly Accounting Review (QAR) preparation
Prepare annual tax package
Compliance with SOX, FAR/CAS
Assist with audit support
Review different business analytics, and balance sheet accounts reconciliations
Assist with intercompany accounting
Assist with quarterly and annual audit deliverables
Research accounting guidance
Provide ad-hoc reporting

Requirements

Position Requirements:
U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED

Working knowledge of US GAAP
Strong accounting and analytical abillities
Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
Strong business acumen and time management skills

Strong excel skills


Education/Experience: 
BS, BA or Masters in Accounting or related field
3+ years relevant experience in large corporation or - progressing in accounting and working in a matrixed environment
or 3+years in public accounting firm
Certified Public Accountant

Preferred Qualifications 
Working knowledge of Costpoint, Deltek, Hyperion are a plus
