Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer service oriented Senior IT Engineer – Infrastructure (VDI Engineer) to join our team in Reston, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

Duties:

• Manage and troubleshoot Virtual Desktop infrastructure in the cloud
• Manage and administer user Personalization technology
• Implement patch management
• App Virtualization using VMware ThinApp, App Volumes
• Publish desktops and individual applications according to the department requirements in the organization
• Knowledge of change management process and experienced in planning and executing scheduled changes
• Closely work with AD, SQL, Network, Storage Team
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer requirements into systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Assist in establishing standards for information systems procedures
• Working with virtual technologies, Windows, O&M of these OSs
• Ability to provide Tier 3 support
• Support customers leveraging a diverse mixture of virtual desktop 'terminals' including thin clients, desktops, laptops, BYOD devices both inside and outside of customer locations, as well as tablets and smartphones.
• Monitor usage and performance, and troubleshoot server, software, and hardware issues
• Analyze outages and defective states, initiating and monitoring measures to remedy them
• Proactively respond and provide support to escalations from level 1 support teams
• Collaborate with partners across the VDI Workspace team on problem management, escalation and major incidents.
• Review and collaboratively create new run books for Level 2 team

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 10 years overall experinece or equivalent

• Have occasional flexibility to work in shifts outside the normal regional business hours
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Windows desktop in a VDI environment
• Clear understanding of ITIL processes and procedures
• Strong customer service orientation
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
• MCSE/MCITP a plus
• Experience with Cloud services

• US Citizenship required
