Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior UNIX System Administrator to join our IT support team.  The successful candidate will be part of our UNIX Administration Team responsible for supporting and maintaining a secure, mission critical production environment in Northern Utah.  

This position requires a minimum of interim top secret clearance.

In this position you will:

  • Administer UNIX Servers in a large Department of Defense data center
  • Secure and maintain UNIX servers using the latest US Cybercom and DISA STIG guidance
  • Operational support for UNIX enterprise landscape in cluding storage, backup, recovery and construction


Position Requirements:

  • Candidate will perform UNIX system administration for a large 24x7 DoD enterprise data center.
  • Initially, the focus area will be primarily Solaris and RHEL OS' but could expand as new requirements develop.
  • Candidate must possess demonstrable skills in a multi-platform environment including other versions of Oracle Solaris, Linux and HPUX .
  • Candidate must be able to effectively evaluate and track multiple operating environments for known and new Cyber Security vulnerabilities. 
  • Once vulnerabilities are identified successful candidates must be able to effectively collaborate with developers, users and other systems administrators to mitigate without detriment to end user capability. 
  • Identification, tracking and change management coordination for vulnerabilities across the enterprise. System administrators also assist with plans of action and mitigation (POA&M) for vulnerabilities that cannot be immediately closed.
  • Strong candidates must possess a high level of the Unix Operating system theoretical expertise and technical experience. Other areas of expertise should include, but are not limited to, system administration, performance tuning, data backup solutions, and knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN). 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in an IT related field and a minimum of 8 years of experience or equivalent.
