Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Subject Matter Expert to join our team in Washington, DC, to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems. 

Position Summary:

In this role you will serve as one of the top experts in the industry to provide technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environment, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that require graduate level knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation. Apply principles, methods and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific task order requirements, advanced principles and methods, to exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problem to arrive at solutions.

Responsibilities:

PORTFOLIO AND SOLUTIONS MANAGEMENT

  • Become a trusted advisor to Unisys vertical segment leaders, sales professionals, and clients by building solid professional relationships. 
  • Create and package for repeatable delivery with good margins and innovative client-oriented solutions that achieve meaningful business change. 
  • Develop services (and in some cases product) offerings targeted to Unisys market segments, based on thorough market research and analysis.
  • Develop strong relationships with the technology and services suppliers necessary to create and deliver solutions and services.
  • SALES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
  • Lead development of sales collateral for portfolio solutions and services including presentations, demonstrations, and re-usable proposal material.
  • Coordinate support to vertical segments during opportunity qualification, pre-RFP material preparation, and proposal development including technical volume leadership, management of technical risk, pricing and solution strategies.

ENGAGEMENT MANAGEMENT and SERVICE DELIVERY

  • Provide leadership and creativity in the implementation of client engagements when new offerings are launched and when major innovations are introduced into existing accounts. 
  • Manage the delivery and implementation of a new solutions and services where assigned.
  • Direct the concurrent activities of multiple engagement teams. 
  • Support the vertical segments in delivery of services through the full engagement lifecycle to achieve or exceed engagement revenue, margin, service level objectives and quality targets. 
  • Help address engagement risks and mitigate them.

PEOPLE and PRACTICE MANAGEMENT

  • Attract and appropriately motivate professionals to build a practice leveraged to achieve or exceed growth, productivity and profitability targets. 
  • Actively participate in the Unisys college/university recruiting programs. 
  • Work with Unisys recruiting to maintain a pipeline of outside experienced professionals. 
  • Provide appropriate mentoring, feedback, training and development opportunities to help individual professionals reach their full potential.

BUSINESS and INDUSTRY SKILLS

  • Demonstrate marketable expertise in at least two market segments and/or functional/technical areas of specialization. 
  • Actively participate in and attain leadership positions in appropriate industry, professional and civic organizations.
Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 20 years experience within an information technology organization or equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • Progressive experience within a professional services business, including the demonstrated ability to manage, deliver and grow a services portfolio or outsourcing practice. 
    • Possess strong industry domain expertise, the required technical skills and a thorough knowledge of the marketplace, competition and suppliers in order to leverage the Unisys value proposition. 
    • External Direct Admission candidates must have held a comparable position in a professional services firm and must be interviewed and approved by at least two VPs or partners.
