Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Technical/Functional Analyst to join our team in Reston, Virginia to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

This position requires someone who has worked on projects and performed in a variety of different roles throughout the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in an Agile environment. Business Analysts will be involved in developing and delivering functional requirements, functional designs, test cases, and training materials.

In addition to the following:

  • Must be capable of working as part of a scrum team to achieve program objectives.
  • This person must be capable of communicating ideas clearly, both orally and in writing, to the customers, and technical resources.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements, and deliver artifacts such as Requirements Documents and Specs
  • Act as the project expert regarding: requirements elicitation, requirements analysis and management, documenting requirements for iterative development, and the communication of business needs
  • Understanding the current state of the client organization while at the same time, tracking to the vision of where a client organization wants to be (As is/to be)
  • Develop that understanding to serve as a basis for the later identification of business needs and to define solutions that meet business needs, goals, or objectives
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Work independently with end users to define concepts, and under the direction of project managers
  • Serves as the conduit between the customer community, and the software development team to achieve successful project functionality and produce outstanding custom platforms
  • Interacts effectively with a diverse group of staff, clients and other customers of our services, learns and uses operating practices of the department


  • US Citizenship with a DoD Secret clearance.
  • 7+ years eliciting functional requirements from business staff
  • Experience writing requirements for use in an agile development environment
  • strong interpersonal skills in dealing with both technical and business stakeholders
  • Technical acumen is preferred (case management systems)
  • Experience facilitating meetings
  • Experience implementing enterprise software projects utilizing Agile delivery techniques
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to translate complex business needs into feasible technical solutions
  • Experienced technologist familiar with software implementation best practices and software architectural principles

Education / Security Clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
