Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Technical Writer/Editor to join our team in Washington, DC, to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems. 

Position Summary:

In this role you will collect and organize information required for preparation of deliverables, reports, communications materials, and any other required documents. Write and edit documents.

Responsibilities: 

  • Researches, organizes, writes, edits and produces data for use in a wide variety of complex technical publications for proposals and bid documentation, requiring in-depth knowledge and understanding of the subject matter and allied fields. 
  • Recommends overall organization and layout, editorial standards, publications methods and the like. 
  • Coordinates publication with outside sources and vendors as needed. 
  • Develops department editing standards and styles. 
  • May provide work leadership for lower level employees. 
  • Excludes those responsible only for writing or editing and those with full supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Master's degree and minimum 5 years of technical writing experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to guide others effectively in producing exceptional work products.
  • Production and/or editing of technical documents. 
  • Ability to consolidate technical inputs and analyses, and produce a logical understandable document. 
  • Must understand and perform content management functions such as document organization using SharePoint and other central stores for documentation. 
  • Strong in document editing, structure and logic flow for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must be an expert in the Microsoft Office suite of products including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Post Graduate/Masters degree in computer science, engineering, communication technology or related field. Professional equivalent experience or qualifications will be considered.
